По этому узлу завод отзывал машины в США не один раз: в реестре NHTSA 4 кампании. Самая свежая объявлена 1 августа 2014 года.

Отзывали вот что: бак, топливный насос.

Речь о машинах 1995–1998 годов выпуска.

Объём кампаний — 1 928 270 машин: столько изготовитель назвал надзорному органу по всем моделям, которые они затронули, а не только по этой.

Кампании: № 13V252000 от 01.08.2014, Chrysler Group LLC — 1 560 000 машин; № 06E011000 от 25.01.2005, AIRTEX PRODUCTS — 7 291 машина; № 03E001000 от 08.02.2003, OTD, INC. — 979 машин; № 97V194000 от 16.06.1998, CHRYSLER CORPORATION — 360 000 машин.

Как дефект описан в реестре (оригинал, английский — юридическую формулировку производителя мы не переводим): «Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty vehicles. The fuel tanks in these vehicles are at risk of failure and leakage in certain rear impacts.»

Чем это грозит, по той же записи: «A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.»

Кампания американская: машина того рынка может быть в другой комплектации и с другим мотором, а в России этого отзыва могло не быть вовсе — проверять надо по VIN у официального дилера. Но узел, который завод отзывал у себя, на осмотре стоит смотреть отдельно.

Устраняется бесплатно у дилера по кампании № 13V252000, объявленной 1 августа 2014 года.

Что делает дилер (оригинал записи): «Owners may take their vehicles to dealers and the dealers will perform a free inspection of the rear structure. On vehicles in the recall that are not equipped with a tow hitch, Chrysler will install a Chrysler designed tow hitch free of charge, provided the condition of the vehicle can support proper installation. On vehicles in the recall that are equipped with an aftermarket tow hitch, Chrysler will assess whether the hitch and surrounding areas show evidence of sharp edges or other puncture risks. If so, Chrysler will replace the tow hitch with a Chrysler designed tow hitch free of charge, provided the condition of the vehicle can support proper installation. On vehicles already equipped with a Chrysler designed tow hitch, Chrysler will inspect the area around the tow hitch installation, and if any installation issues are identified, they will be repaired free of charge. Надзор проверял этот узел отдельно. NHTSA открывал по нему расследование № EA12005, открытое 12 июня 2012 года. Всего таких проверок по этому узлу 3.
